Chartered Physiotherapy in Stockport — treating pain at its source
Physiotherapy
Pain can stop you doing the things you love. It can affect your sleep, your work, your mood, and your confidence. But pain is information — and with the right clinical assessment, most of it can be addressed, helping you get back to the things you love and live well.
Matt Jenkinson is an HCPC and CSP Registered Chartered Physiotherapist with an Advanced Pain Management qualification and over 20 years of clinical experience. At Your Health Roots, based at Houldsworth Mill in Reddish, he sees patients from across Stockport, the 4 Heatons, Levenshulme, Didsbury, Gorton, Cheadle, South Manchester and surrounding Cheshire areas — taking a thorough, evidence-based approach to understanding what’s driving your pain and what will actually resolve it. He works with you to craft a tailored programme suitable for where you are and where you want to get to.

Physiotherapy FAQ's
No. You can self-refer directly. Book online or call 0161 399 0151. If you have existing scans, letters, or GP notes, bring them — but they’re not a requirement.
Comfortable clothing that allows access to the area being treated. If you’re concerned about any aspect of the examination or nervous about treatment, you’re welcome to bring a friend or loved one with you to you appointment.
Chronic pain and inflammation are not always purely structural. Nutritional factors — including omega-3 deficiency, blood sugar instability, and gut-derived inflammation — can significantly affect how the body responds to injury and recovery and how we subsequently feel. At Your Health Roots, physiotherapy and clinical nutrition frequently work together. We can combine your physio programme with diagnostic testing and nutritional support where relevant, giving you a more complete recovery pathway.
